a self-portrait of my past self, a distorted and deconstructed instrument that becomes unrecognizable. This instrument is a curved tangle of pieces and buttons that lead nowhere, forcibly fitting in the constraints of the surface, it can’t make a sound. Locked in an unassuming black case and tucked away in the back of my closet. The outside is a hard protective shell, but the inside is a soft crushed velvet that has the impression of the instrument pressed into it from over the years. Forgotten and left behind, constantly, hoping to be perceived as this glamorous glossy black case with nothing but soft velvet and shiny silver treasure inside.
